    NO local console access on Droid

    Played around with a co-worker's Droid, and connectbot did not allow me to connect to a local shell.

    It said something to the effect that "Local shell access is not available on this device."

    Wonder how this complicates rooting?

    Once I turned on USB debugging the ADB shell worked OK.

    You can get local console access on Droid with my app: Better Terminal Emulator Pro. The latest version 2.03 is available from the Android Market, and tested on my Droid to work (including enhanced shell.) You can get more details about Better Terminal Emulator Pro on my website: magicandroidapps.com Wiki

    Better Terminal Emulator Magic (the Free one) does not yet work on Droid. I am working on that...

    On my Blog, I also started digging into the internals of Droid, and it looks much more locked down than even the Motorola Cliq.
