Custom Boot Logos.... Who wants one?

I've been trying to turn this image into a boot logo for my droid 1 but I cant get the file size right so that the boot logo generator will accept it. If someone could help me out I would really appreciate it!

Unfortunately, that image isn't well suited for the D1's boot logo. Dimensions for the logo are 480w x 182h, so anything so vertically oriented isn't going to scale nicely. You could flat cut the size to 182h and then center on a 480x182 background, but you aren't gonna be happy with the tiny image on your screen. Hopefully, future phones will allow for better boot logos.

However now I am thinking of tracking down a borg font style and writing borg in background or ... resistance is futile
you were right on it being small but it still looks great. The d1 doesnt support boot sounds does it?

Sounds good. I'd check some of the star trek shrine sites, they often have the good fonts. You can play boot sounds along with your animation on froyo and gingerbread. Read the first post of the comics thread in my sig. There's basic info and links with more details on how it works.

As I told phoenixcryos, the dimensions of that will not likely be acceptable once scaled to fit, 480x182. Also, that cover has some text, which will not be legible. You're better off choosing something that is about twice as wide as it is tall, though some images which are close to square will be acceptable. The easiest way to tell is to scale an image to 182 pixels in height. If you can view that on your phone (at 100% zoom), and feel it is acceptable, then go for it.

My bad. When I read the size reference before I mentally switched the height- width. Since the screen is tall. How about this one? Longer than tall right?

Yeah it could be used, though I'll throw out one more suggestion. If it can't be cropped/scaled perfectly to 480x182, pictures don't work too well unless you don't mind a color frame surrounding it.

I'll do that one in the morning and you can see what you think. If you have that pix with more background to work with, it could look great though.
