Setcpu problems

I seem to be running some issues with setcpu. Sometimes, it doesn't switch profiles especially when it's necessary (fail safe). Also, the stress test doesn't seem to ever finished even after 3 minutes of testing.

What number is good for long bench test? I am running P3 droid 1.1ghz low voltage kernel at 1ghz/400mhz on cm6 on Droid 1.

My temperature always seem to go over 42 degrees (fail safe) whenever I'm updating apps and doesn't cool down until I restart the phone.

should I simply change the kernel? If so, to what?

42 is pretty low for a fail safe, for starters.

Okay, what priority do you have the failsafe profile set at? Are you sure profiles are enabled? Do you have SetCPU's "set at boot" checkbox enabled? What version of SetCPU are you running?

100 is the priority for the failsafe.
Yes it clicked to "set at boot".
And the latest verison.

What should be temperature be for the failsafe?

Generally speaking 50 is quite fine. You have profiles enabled -- anything else have a priority of 100?

Changed it to 45 just because at 42, my phone generally gets pretty hot. And nothing else has priority of 100

Set your minimum speed to the lowest possible the kernel allows. Otherwise you're generating heat you don't need to. What's your screen off profile set at?

500/250 and ondemand.250 is my min now.I flash another kernel. 1ghz with 250 min,low volatage.p3 kernel

Have you tried ChevyNo1's kernels? His ULV generate less heat -- if your phone can run them.

Will do, but I heard P3 droid are better for the battery life and work well with Cm6

There is no "better" kernel, just what kernel runs "better" on your phone. Most people seem to forget that every Droid is different and what works beautifully one one person's Droid will boot-loop or hang or overheat another's Droid.

I'm running his 1.1GHz ULV kernel and I have zero problems with it. In fact, the only problem I've had with this kernel is a lack of compcache.
