The program to allow homebrew to be ran on the PS3. Essentially it puts the PS3 in debug mode allowing unsigned code to be ran. There has already been an open source SDK for the PS3 released and so far one homebrew app writen.

    It's been done!

    [DEV] PSFreedom(PSJailbreak) Android Port - Page 2 - xda-developers

So here is a basic recap of what needs to be done:

place linked files on root of sdcard
    First do nandroid backup!
Then reboot into recovery fire up adb and
    "adb shell"
    "#cd /sdcard"
    "#flash_image boot boot.img"
    reboot into ROM normally
    open a terminal
    "$su"
    "#mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system"
    "#mv psfreedom.ko /data/psfreedom.ko"
    "#insmod /data/psfreedom.ko"
    "#mount -o remount,ro -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system"
    "#sync"
Then do the normal Jailbreak/PSgroove/PSFreedom power off on and quickly hit eject
It will take a little longer to boot (this is good)
Then under the "Game" tab it will show two new icons "/app_home/PS3/Game" and "Install Package Files"

    Done using Cyanogenmod 6
    Excellent job devs!

This site would've came in handy when I was looking for a way for me to play PS3 games without the disc...since my blu-ray drive burned out..-_-"

Too late now though, as I took it apart for the gigantic fan

the rom doesn't came with apps to install. you would need to download the apps for it

    go here and download it

    Backup Manager: Stealth Edition Released | PS3 Hacks :: PS3 Homebrew :: PS3 Downloads

then throw the pkg file on the root of any usb drive.

then it should appear on the "install package folder" on the XMB

also if you want to install on to your internal hardrive make sure you don't have anything plugged in the usb sockets. (lol took me a long time to figure out way i wasn't given an option to stall internal)

You can still install to internal with a USB plugged in, just hit O when it asks if you want to backup to external. It will then prompt you to backup to internal, at least it should, mine does.
