Thread: Deleted a /data/data/ folder now wont boot.

    Deleted a /data/data/ folder now wont boot.

    I was trying to fix a Market problem i have ( http://www.droidforums.net/forum/tec...-download.html ),and one option was to delete this file,now my phone wont boot,but i have made a backup of what i deleted.Now i can access recovery but was wondering how i can adb push to the /data/data/ directory.

    If you made a nandroid backup, you could just restore to that. But I assume you mean that you just backed up that one file somewhere?

    adb push filename /data/data

    Problem is, you probably have a whole DIRECTORY of files, right? Not sure how well adb does with multiple files. You might need to do adb shell and just make the directory, then push all the files into it.
    Cool CM Tricks
    custom_backup_list.txt - make a list of files in /system that will survive a nightly install (ringtones, notifications, system apps, wallpapers, whatever)
    in Terminal Emulator, set this as your shell command: "/system/xbin/su -c /system/xbin/bash". You get all the features of bash, root access, and you can still use the initial command field for whatever you want (default is adding /data/local/bin to your path)

    Well we've learned a valuable lesson today. Rename directories, don't delete.

    Nope,this time I didnt,it was the "com.google.android.provider.settings" and in there there is 3 folders,2 of them are empty and one of them has a "googlesettings.db" file that i need to restore. I tried that command to transfer the whole "com..." folder an it pushed it but it put it somewhere else...it was a database folder where i didn't tell it to go.
