    free wireless hotspot

    hey everyone, I just installed the 2.2 update to FROYO on Saturday to my HTC incredible. how would I go about getting free wireless hotspot on my phone so I can use my laptop off of it? I do not want to pay for a mobile internet plan. can I downgrade and root? sorry I am very new to this, but would love to get it working !!

    You must root and then install a custom kernel that enables it, or a custom ROM that would include one of these kernels. Then you can use the "Wireless Tether for Root Users" app.

    I'm a Droid 1 guy so you'll have to look up the options for your device... i'm not familiar.
