Exclamation Attention Milestone users on here! (Browser love for Droid Owners)

We would all really love you forever if, once you've rooted yor milestone, if you'd be the best person in the universe and upload your Browser.apk somewhere so that we can enjoy the love of pinch and zoom multitouch plus an incredible browser.

To get the apk use the following commands:

    adb shell
    adb pull /system/app/Browser.apk

And that's it! Host that sucker up and let us partake in the best of both worlds!!

    Thanks in advance.

Are we positive that just pulling out the Browser is going to work?

There's no reason why it wouldnt. The browser has been transplanted on various custom roms, there should be no reason why you shouldnt be able to delete the default app and replace it with this.

PS: Holla out to Cherry Hill, born and raised there! (I was also starting to wonder whether anyone from this area was actually on here )

Oh and BTW, once we do get it, installation instructions are below(courtesy of gurugabe from androidcommunity) :

    With ADB
    adb remount
    adb pull /system/app/Browser.apk c:\androidbrowserold.apk <--backup old browser -->
    adb rm /system/app/Browser.apk
    adb rm /data/data/com.android.browser
    adb push c:/Browser.apk /sdcard
    adb shell
    mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
    cp /sdcard/Browser.apk /system/app
    exit
    then reboot.

    OR DIRECTLY FROM THE PHONE:
use terminal must transfer browser.apk to sdcard first.
    su
    mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
    rm /system/app/Browser.apk
    rm /data/data/com.android.browser
    cp /sdcard/Browser.apk /system/app
    reboot

Well I was just wondering if multi-touch was enabled AT ALL on the device.

On my G1 multi-touch had to be built into the kernel in order for it to be used in the Browser. Only time will tell though.

PS -- I am in Hoboken, NJ but I know exactly where Cherry Hill is!

Multitouch should be enabled in the kernel, as dolphin browser as well as the now million gallery apps that use multitouch do work. I'll be glad to be a dummy for anyone that wants to upload the apk

PS: Almost took a job up by Hoboken, beautiful area.

    Very, very true.

Okay hopefully someone with a Milestone roots their phone and can pull it off for us.
