Sort of along the same lines...I know the unrevoked team allowed for easing rooting of 2.1, but what about after I get my 2.2 update? Will the same process root that version as well? Is something already available or do I need to wait for a group to root the new 2.2?
Easy root doesn't do 2.2.... I thought it did?

1st off, if you were able to restore and change ROM's, you're phone wasn't bricked.
2ndly, (my 1st gripe) if I see another post about an Easy Root issue I am going to go insane. Folks, there is a right way to root your phone and..and.. you learn something in the process! Why did you root? How did you root? Waht was the purpose? These questions get answered when you take the time to do it the right way and as an added bonus, no problems. If one arises guess what, you know what happened to your phone to get it rooted so you can fix it. It's just amazing what you can learn when you do something yourself instead of relying on others. I just don't get someone skipping this step and walking themselves right into ROM's, kernels, themes, etc.. Errors come up and you can't fix them cause you don't understand what your phone is doing and the fix is so simple... do it yourself.
ok, end rant.
Just got my first D1 which was preloaded with OTA 2.2. I rooted with the sprevovery method using the same process as with the 2.1 rom. After updating with sprevovery it did break the OTA 2.2 rom but allowed me to update to a custom rooted rom. If you need to find the guide I used check out:

Hope that helps, like I said it will break the current rom which scared me at first. I ended up loading SS4.7 and it works great.
