ok, so you heard it! MAKE SURE YOU MIRROR THE IMAGE AND THEN REVERSE THE BYTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for the info kevdog... the tutorial stays as is, and i must say... pretty damn good, glad to hear you figured it out sickpig... post the pic and sbf file if you can get around to doing it pls... still gotta get mine up here soon, and i'm currently making someone 2 sbf files with edited boot logos... thanks everyone! Hope this is helping people, even those who haven't posted in here
Sorry but i have to disagree if you were to flash a bad sbf why couldn't you just flash the original unedited sbf file. That would just take you back to stock and your phone would be unbricked. Not to completely disagree why fix what isn't broken it's very easy to just mirror the image so I agree that you should just keep the guide as is cause I was one of the first if not first to do it when the guide was posted here and it's worked flawlessly i've even done it a few times for some others here on droidforums but i don't believe that if you were to not mirror it and it didn't work that your phone would be bricked. I'm pretty confident my guide in my signature can unbrick anything i've not seen anything it couldn't unbrick.
Yea, this is true, it won't brick your phone, i've actually had bad sbf files and all you have to do is flash a not broken one... thanks for the input, and again... the tutorial stays as is, b/c i'm not gonna fix what isn't broken, the extra step is worth the knowledge that it WILL work... also, glad to hear that its still workin for everyone... thanks gflam... glad to know that you and I are helpin the people here out and makin the sbf files for those not comfortable enough to do it themselves...
step 5 is simple... since sbfcodec should already b open with your sbf file chosen, when you edit the CG42.smg file, it updates that file in sbfcodec, so once ur finished editing that file and pasting the hex coding for your image into the file replacing the hex coding for the crappy motorola "M" logo, you just go to file save and then save it as customlogo.sbf and proceed to step 6 which is simply flashing that sbf file to your phone then re root ur phone and apply what ever theme or rom you want and it'll permanently be that boot logo until u repeat the process and change it

Looks pretty cool
Probably a dumb question, but I have looked pretty much everywhere. I am new to all this including photoshop or any photo editing software. I input a picture I want from the internet and try to resize it to the 480 x 182 but when I change one option the other is automatically set and I cannot get a 1024 x 780 picture down to the 480 x 182 size? Is there a way to do this or do I just have to find the right picture size on the internet? Thank you!
