How to install debian on the droid.

Hey just try sapphire, what someone told me and got it working
And no apps running from sdcard, would give links but on droid
And not near pc.

your droid doesn't have bash. try a rom like cm7 or something like that.

Yes I know this is an old thread but I have rekindled my fire for tinkering with my Moto Droid. I have started grabbing the files needed for this but am curious if anyone has had any recent luck using a current rom.

Right now my Droid is running the latest Steel Droid rom. But I will do what I must to make this work.

And for those that asked months ago why you would do this I ask why wouldn't you do this? Isn't the spirit of hacking something in a big part of "just because". Once you accomplish it you can figure out how useful it will be.
