Droid X hacking = bricking?

I tend to take everything this guy posts with a grain of salt, as he's a quite vocally pro-iPhone and very much in love with everything Apple does. He even has admitted to being surprised when an Apple product is beat by a non-Apple product, like Android phones.

My initial thought was 'Well, yeah... Hacking any phone can brick it.' After reading through it, though, he seems to have a few points. It does seem that you're more apt to brick a Droid X than actually root or hack it.

But I'm not an expert. I've never even rooted my original Droid. So I thought I would check in here. I figure that if it's rootable or hackable, somebody here's done it (and probably on the first day).
