I lost the market apk! I need the market app!! Please Help.

Ok, so I really do need some help here and although I'm rooted with Droid Mod I am a Nob! I was having some troubles with my phone last night. The power button menu options screen kept popping up. It was acting crazy so I decided..............Well here's what I did

a backup (simple nandroid) then a restore (simple) then I flashed the rom (the only rom I got) Like a dummy I selected or deselected some of the wrong options with droid mod rom (that always con fuses me) So after reflash. My browser and the MARKET APK are gone! Oh yeah I did not wipe data I selected as always No Wipe.
I have titanium back up that is scheduled to back up every Sunday but nothing seems to be there I thought that was what is was for.......
Everything else is perfect All of my apps are in launcher. It seems if I had the market file all would be well. Please help. Im lost

You could just download another ROM and use that one. Or if you want to continue with the original, just download another ROM, flash it, use adb to pull those apps, flash the other rom, and push the apps to /system/app.

That is way over my head...... Cant I just find the market apk and download to computer mount and drag it somewhere in the phone????

You could try to search for the market apk, but who knows if you'll really find it. And I'm not sure what the consequences would be if you didn't install it as a system app. Just give it a whirl.

You can also to a restore to your old OS, then being a bit more careful root again.

I'm screwed. I have been out of the loop for so long I have forgot what little I new. I don't understand what happened so I cant grasp the fix. Wouldn't a restore just take it to the latest backup, I think I tried that still no market. Where the hell did it go......

What about my back to stock option that droid mod has. Back to stock then re root with DMU. Will I loose anything if I do that.......

I think you can use RSDLite to flash a rooted version of 2.1. Then you can go and get another 2.2 ROM using the usual methods.

Could always grab an update.zip theme or something for your ROM, open it on your computer (its just a simple zip file), and delete all of the files except the Vending.apk then install it to your phone. Thats a work-around if you don't wanna learn ADB. Careful out there!

EDIT: Or use Android Commander! It's like visual ADB, so no code...

If i do that where do I put the update.zip file with the original. i'm clueless......
