    need to know how to root 2.1

    hey guys i am still new to this i had my phone rooted but i updated 2.1 and its not rooted and was just wondering if rooting it was any different and can i still use DM Updater, to root it, and would it completely wipe my phone??????

    Follow my post in this thread:
    Flashing SPRecovery SBF to Stock 2.1

    This will get you there even if you are completely stock 2.1, and with that particular method you won't have to wipe your phone. Additionally you can install one of Chevy01's kernels for 2.1 which will give you additional functions like overclocking and wireless tethering.

    However if you're willing to wipe your phone and start fresh, once you have SPRecovery you can go straight to one of the new rooted Froyo custom ROMS. I recommend Chevy01's new SS 4.4, I installed this yesterday and it's great.
