missing word suggest dictionary after froyo 2.2 install

3rd day on my moto droid. flashed/installed/whateva froyo 2.2 last night. veRy impressed. seem to have lost my entire dictionary tho. only thing i can find on the net is deleting words or addin customary words.


anyone know where/how to get back the word suggestion dictionary?

you have to enable the word prediction dictionary in the settings

under word suggestion in settings i have both show suggestions and auto-complete checked. the user dictionary is empty.

You installed a fresh rom, so all your stuff is gone. youre gonna have to just edit the user dictionary yourself. its not an error or anything thats just how it works

That doesn't sound right to me. I installed 2.2 Froyo and my dictionary is fine.

You installed a fresh rom, so all your stuff is gone. youre gonna have to just edit the user dictionary yourself. its not an error or anything thats just how it works

Srry if bein a lil slow but not only did my droid come w a populated dictionary, it was an impressive dic at that. Im thinkin its not purely populated by user, there has to be some sort of library somewhere..

not sure what you mean... but it seems the suggestion functionality is working, for example it suggests items such as names from my phone book, but it does not have any other words to suggest. like at all. not apple, and, love, butt, nothing, running, sleeping. none.

i need to find a populated dictionary - i was very impressed by the wide range of the dictionary it came with.

Thats interesting... Which rom did you install? You could also try another keyboard, such as the htc_IME one. [MOD] HTC_IME (8th June) v27: Small fix - xda-developers I know that that one comes with a dictionary. It could be that the rom you flashed just didnt include the dictionary with the keyboard in order to save memory.

installed onix. thinking about trying cyanogen mod. anyone feel like explaining the difference. and dont bother if its purely aesthetic...
