Mybackup Pro vs Titanium backup

This is a discussion on Mybackup Pro vs Titanium backup within the Droid Hacks forums, part of the Droid Hacking category; I heard MyBackup doesn't associate apps back to the market so you wont get update notifications, is that true?...

It was true at a time. I'm not certain that still applies because now there is a setting for rooted Droids.

Well what I mean is that using Titanium free it gives me an install prompt for each and every app. I have about 100 apps so you can imagine how annoying it is. It only takes slightly less time than searching for the apps on my own.

yeap just pay the $4 and it will install them automatically w/o the prompts, totally worth the money

Well that's definitely better then but titanium is still superior overall IMO

Titanium is the only choice here. Get the free version. If you don't want to have to click the install button for each app then get the paid version. Nothing else even comes close.

I have both. MyBackUp Pro gets my vote hands down.
Has root access just like Titanium.

Titanium back up for me, would never re-establish my Market links after a restore.
MyBackUpPro does it flawlessly for me every time.

Basically what it boiled down to for me. They both backed up every app I had and restored them all, but only MyBackUp Pro (for whatever reason) will restore my Market links.

IMO, it's useless to restore apps if I'm gonna have to go back thru the Market 1 by 1 anyways.

Well when i used a different backup that didn't restore the market links all i had to do was clear the market data in manage applications and then reboot my phone and the market would eventually realign itself with my phone within an hour

Good to know. If I run into that situation again.

But they restore instantly for me with MBUP.

sometimes, depending on rom/theme,etc, is more a market issue then recover program issue. the 1 time (out of 40) titanium acted like that to me just installing any other app (even if immediately uninstalled) fixed the issue.
    ymmv of course
