    first, more roms equals more choices for us.
    second, and probably more important, is the more doing it the more each dev learns and perfects his/her own rom.

    Not so anymore. With source dropped on AOSP, and the latest FRF83B build, while roms will look and behave mostly alike, there can be great differences in how they are actually running in the background.

    JRummy's Source ROM, for example is using Koush's vendor setup, while CVPCS pride's himself on the fact he isn't, and that he has his own custom vendor setup.

    Yes, many of the wonderful addons we came so used to from the 2.1 days are still not there, but its just a matter of time, Froyo is still young, mind you.
