    Going Back to Stock/Insurance Question

Sorry if this isn't the correct forum, wasn't sure where to post.

So, My phone came into contact with a little liquid the other day, and is kind of spazzing out now, so I was planning on putting in a claim with my insurance (that I got through verizon) to get a replacement. My question is - Would I have to reset it back to stock before I send it in? Or does that only matter when your trying to get a replacement via the warranty rather than insurance? Currently Running Adamz smoked glass 5.0. Any help would be cool, thanks.

Yes it would have to be reverted back to stock,i think rooting the phone voids the warranty, but as far as insurance im not sure,so i would go ahead and revert it back to stock just to avoid any problems.

There are ***THREE*** liquid sensors on this phone.

One is in the battery compartment and is easily seen.

The other two show in disassembly.

If they show water you will pay for it anyway. Save yourself the hassle of flashing stock if so.

I know I will pay the deductible, I just don't want to send the phone in then be denied a replacement because I installed a custom rom and technically voided the warranty.

AFAIK water damage is not covered by insurance. You will pay retail price for a replacement, if they show water damage, not just a deductible

I think this is incorrect. I have seen multiple places, including around these forums that say otherwise

You should probably google it for yourself, because as I said, you are wrong.

Yes, I know this - I was just wondering if I have to go through the trouble of restoring it back to stock before making my claim/sending it in. It's more or less on the fritz unless its plugged into the wall, won't even stay on otherwise. Have a new battery coming in, but I can see one of the internal water indicators is competely red - so I imagine the phone will remain borderline inoperable even with the new battery.
