App install directory?
Started rooting around the filesystem tonight, couldn't find any main app files ( found the randoms on the sd card) also searched the forums to no avail. Where do programs normally drop their files?

the main folder for preinstalled apps is \system\app, the apps that you download, i think are part of a root locked folder that you don't have access to.
Resistance is futile.

Thanks for the response, that would explain why I couldn't find them. I did find the pre-installed apps, I should have been more specific.

yes that is what was already stated... but you still cannot delete them with the emulator. unless my emulator was broken
Resistance is futile.

Also, as was stated, only the pre-installed apps were in there. I wonder when we are going to see a PC based file browser so we can pull down the whole file system.

When you root the system.
Resistance is futile.

I hear you, but still, it isn't easy to forget how BitPim allows access to some folders and not others:

that's because some folders allow for read access for user accounts, there was another file explorer other then astro i tried out, and it actually told you what folders were root access only. there were 2-3 on the main file structure. Meaning that 2-3 folders and sub-folders you can't access without root access. (if that's what you mean)
Resistance is futile.

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Where are the file browsers that work OFF the phone? We can read the NVM from RadioComm and QXDM.
