This is a discussion on Complete Disassembled Droid within the Droid Hacks forums, part of the Droid Hacking category; Hey guys, ive taken my droid apart and put it back together 3 times now, took it apart the first day it came out, but ...
Interesting, but the pictures are too low resolution to be of much use.
What we really need is some nice clear macro shots of the various boards and chips.
I am curious about what's attached to the top left of the screen opposite the led.
(top right - Imageshack - pwrdbykyankdroidteardow)
I have a 5MP shot of it, its just imageshack makes it smaller. Ill try to upload full resolution. As for the left, i think the left side is just like the iphone from what i can tell, thats where the sensors are for light to see if the phone is up to your face or not. But then if thats that, then the right side has it too so im not sure.
you bastard !!! btw its ooralphtwost from insider, when u remove the screws from the back of the screen, does the cover just come off or is it more complicated then that? i have some dust on my screen and its killlllin me
The light sensor is on the right next to the notification LED; I'm trying to figure out what's to the left of the speaker, too hard to tell from those pictures but it could be IrDA.
ill get you a better pic in a few minutes, as for ralph, lol after you take the screws off, on top left there is some sticky tape u need to take off, then unplug one of the connectors there so you can then stick a flathead on top left corner there is a insert, you lift up from there the lcd comes up![]()
Proximity sensor, used to automatically turn off the screen while in a call -- try holding the phone away from you and moving your finger near that corner.
is that better? save to your desktop and open and zoom in
