    re-activation??

    after the droid is rooted..would i have to re-activate the phone service by calling verizon?

    i have a motorola droid now but when i had a droid eris and i had to reset everything on the phone, it said i had to re-activate the line also, by calling the verizon hot-line. do i have to do that again after i root this phone?

    Its all automated, it shouldn't be a big deal.

    that wasn't very clear.. sorry.. no, you don't have to reactivate when you root. but if you install a new baseband as part of whatever you are toying with, then yes. but it's not a big deal, the phone does it for you.. you just say ok, dial it.. wait for some lady to start talking, hit "1", and wait about 30sec while the phone does it's thing..

    ok thanks. cuz i remember before, it was an actual person and i guess she was checking to see if the phone was stolen or not or something when i had to re-active it... to me it seemed kinda long and tedious.

    The only time I had to reactivate was when going to 2.1 from 2.0.1. Not a big deal took about 30 seconds and it was automated so it doesn't really matter.

    after i reactivated mine more than a few times in the same day, the system stopped accepting it, and i had to learn how to do a manual programing on the phone. its actually faster, and doesnt require the tedious "hit 1 to...." stuff
