Since we are on topic actually, I keep getting the notification for the froyo 2.2 update. I'm afraid that I may hit this button by accident and mess up my kernel, phone, etc. since I isntalled Chevy's kernels and did the FRG22 update.

So how do I get rid of this notification? If I have the FRG22 update then I don't need Froyo 2.2 Correct?

From what I have read all you have to do is accept and it will be blocked by SPRecovery.
After that the notification should go away.

There is a new leak that is FRG22D but it has been taken down because of Motorolas C&D letter.

hmmm. Although I'm tempted to let it run and see if SPrecovery blocks it, I'm afraid to do it. I'll keep blocking it for now.

Are we supposed to do the OTA in order to get FRG22D? I'm still not rooted, and I'm still on 2.1update1. I keep putting off the OTA because of the chances of a bricked phone. I finally got my Droid 1 last June, and the last thing I want is some certified pre-owned, pre-worn out Droid 1 warranty replacement because VZW's OTA bricked my phone.

I'd much rather go through your steps in post #13 update manually. Advice??

I'm rooted with 2.2/FRG22 from post #13 and let the OTA update try to install and it was blocked. Not sure if it made a difference but I deleted the update from /cache/ before allowing it to try and install.

Did you get any error messages at all?

I just checked my phone under About,System updates and said that download failed but yet originally it said that it was ready to install. But either way I'm cool with it failing.

Do you get any messages when SPrecovery blocks it?

Just the update blocked message, no errors other than the "update.zip" failed or whatever, which is the same I saw when they first rolled out 2.2 and I wanted it to stop bugging me.

I followed these instructions and got everything installed and haven't had much of a problem until now. I did the rooted instructions to enable wi-fi hotspot. Now since yesterday I'm getting a nag about updating software which SPRecovery will NOT allow. Also my bluetooth push and pull has STOPPED working since I did this mod, anyway to fix that?

Man, this 77MB Update is so annoying. It won't go away, even though the SP Recov blocks it, I still hate seeing it. It comes back a week after. Anyway to perm kill this thing?

So I take it theres no fix to STOP an OTA update when I've already installed 2.2? Or am I the ONLY one getting this EVERYTIME I wake up my phone. GOD it's ANNOYING!!!! Especially when SPRrecovery BLOCKS it EVERY TIME!!

I've been getting it, it's become more rapid. Used to nag me every afew days, now it's every minute, until I do a install and block it with SP. Then again in 2-3 days max, it starts showing. It has slowed my phone down, and making my stuff force close.

You have frg22 or frg22d? I thought I was up to date and I jus had 22 but once I got the newest one and let sprecovery block it I haven't had it ask me again
