    Automatic Brightness doesn't work

It's hard to pinpoint when this happened, because I just noticed it. But since I've rooted my phone the automatic brightness does not work. I've used several ROMS and I don't think it's worked with any of them. Is this a known issue?

    Right now I'm using CM.

Some toms have a problem where automatic brightness won't work immediately on a fresh reboot of the phone. Try hitting the power button to turn off the screen and turn it back on again, or try going into settings and disable/re-enable automatic brightness, see if that works.
    Cool CM Tricks
custom_backup_list.txt - make a list of files in /system that will survive a nightly install (ringtones, notifications, system apps, wallpapers, whatever)
in Terminal Emulator, set this as your shell command: "/system/xbin/su -c /system/xbin/bash". You get all the features of bash, root access, and you can still use the initial command field for whatever you want (default is adding /data/local/bin to your path)

Yeah, I've tried all that. After looking into it a bit more I've noticed that it goes from Dim to Bright, but doesn't fade to dim in dark lighting...
