Why would you want to unroot?

I've been glancing through the threads. I don't really have great internet in my living accomodations and shouldn't really be on the board too much here at work to "search." So, I'm sorry if the answer to my question is already posted somewhere and I just couldn't find it.

Why would someone want to unroot their phone? When the phone is rooted, isn't that the same as stock except for the fact that you have "administrator" rights...so to speak? In other words, you can still get Verizon updates (2.2 when it comes), etc?

    Thnx!

No, your custom recovery image blocks the installation of the OTAs, and most likely your rooted phone has its otacerts deleted, which allows it to receive it. However, developers will jump on the OTA as soon as it's released so you shouldn't worry about OTA's. You will get what stock gets and more.
