[App] YouTube HQ .apk from EVO 4G

This is pulled from the EVO 4G ROM, but works just fine for us. There's even an option in it to always default to HQ, even on mobile. Install it and enjoy. Credits go to pardonmyfreedom for posting this up on AndroidForums.

Or, you can download the attachment to this post. However, you will need to rename it to YouTube.apk!

Installation Instructions

Either download it straight from your Droid browser, and click on it when it's done. Or, download it on your computer, put it on your sd card, use a file manager like ASTRO to find it, click on it, and install it.

You *may* get a warning about how a system app is being updated. That's cool, because it is

It's a .apk.zip file, when i click on it from ASTRO, it just shows folders and a bunch of files and no .apk file. How do I install it?

Then rename it to just .apk

When you click on it, instead of clicking on "browse file", click on "open application manager"

EDIT: I've also attached it to the original post as a .zip file (the forum does not allow .apk attachments)

I did NOT zip the file, just changed the extension. Change it back to .apk, to install.

i installed it from my droid's browser and voila! once it downloaded i opened it and menu/play hq by default... booyah!

This app will remove full screen HQ from non HD videos and I can't seem to find the upload button, although youtube upload still works from the camera app. Still worth it I guess.
