Question Rooted Moto Droid Google Maps Update...

Long story short- When I rooted my phone, I accidentally clicked the "remove permanently" option for the AmazonMP3 app, and the only way to get it back was for me to wipe/reinstall. No biggie...

Except that now the Maps won't update. I know this is an issue covered in other posts, but nothing I've found has worked so far. I actually HAD it fixed before, and now it won't work.

    Steps I've taken:
    - Deleted the APK file from /system using Root File Manager
    - Deleted everything that had the word "maps" in it from my phone
    - Downloaded another APK file for it
    - Contemplated throwing my phone against the wall

I've spent 4 hours looking for the fix for it, and would appreciate help. Thank you!!

Get the apk you downloaded, and try pushing to system/app. If that doesn't work, try data/app

Strange! Perhaps your best option is to restore a good backup and proceed from there.

So this would wipe my phone again? Or what are you telling me to do? I'm confused.
