Safe Mode booting

To enter safe mode on the Motorola Droid (should work on most other Android phones):
1. Power off and remove battery, Wait for at least two minutes
2. Power on and hold the hardware menu key (the menu button on the Droid's physical keyboard) from the moment you press the power button until your home/lock screen is displayed (it should now have a small "Safe Mode" label in the bottom left corner)

You are now in safe mode

To return to normal operation:
1. Power off and remove battery, Wait for at least two minutes
2. Replace battery and power on, hold no buttons.

this is good info. something everyone should know how to do when "weird" things start happening.

i just tried doing this without pulling the battery and was able to boot into safe mode without problem.

power off, hold down menu key, power on, keep holding until you see safe mode. easy!
