Finally rooted, trying to install first ROM, Flash ClockworkMod Recovery not working.
Hello, I finally rooted my phone and got the courage to try to install a rom (Cyanogen). I downloaded ROM Manager and at the top it says "You must have the ClockworkMod Recovery installed to flash and restore ROMs", however the server is down so the button does not work. Is there a work around? I have Cyanogen downloaded to my phone so I guess this is the only step left.
Keep in mind I am a complete and total noob when it comes to this so please be very detailed and specific on what I need to do. Talk to me as if you are talking to an infant. Thank you.

I think you might just have to wait it out. Many people had this problem a couple of days ago. I kept trying and almost lost precious sleep time, but the next day I tried flashing cwrm and it worked. Patience patience

Try restarting the phone and see if your still having the issues with rom manager and dont forget to make sure you have the latest version, rom manager has issues with having to do things more than once. If you can get into the clockwork recovery then just make a nandroid backup, wype data and cache then install the rom as a zip. because i have no idea exactly which version you have or where it is stored on your sd card along with the fact that your new at this, i would suggest using rom manager and let it do the work for you so you dont make any mistakes, atleast till you have a good backup to work with
Ignorance is humorous, relatable, and fixable... Stupid is not.

So is this Flash ClockworkMod Recovery not necessary to installing a ROM?
Can I just copy the ROM to the root of my SD Card, name it update.zip, wipe data/cache, and install?

Uninstall/reinstall fixed the problem. Thanks fellas.
