Calendar Sync with iCal

Is this possible, does anyone else work in a place where their job uses iCal and not good ol Outlook? I know people have been fighting to get Outlook to work, was hoping that there was a way to get iCal syncing instead of manually copying them over into Google Calendar. Not a terrible thing to have to do, but hey, why not make life that much easier?

Okay the scoop here is, Google Cal syncs with iCal but not the other way around, at least on 10.5.8 I read that 10.6+ has sync built in otherwise you're stuck paying 65 bucks for spanning sync.

Well, then just start using Google as your main Calendar and let it sync to iCal for you. That way you still have iCal and don't have to pay anything extra.

Remember, it's a google phone so if you can focus on moving things to Google. Have your mail sync with Gmail. If you focus from that point of view it should be possible to do all, and not pay anything extra out of pocket.

Where I work we use iCal and Google. In order to get it to sync both ways and onto our phones, we also have BusySync on the mac. I have not had a problem syncing both ways to my work calendar. My droid has google, work has iCal synced back to Google through busysync.

The way I understand it, Google Calendar Sync works to sync the google calendar to the droid and visa versa. However with iCal you have to have a program that syncs that to google and visa versa. The program that our office uses to sync iCal to Google and back is busysync. I believe it is a mac product, as is the iCal.

Nope. Google Calendar Sync is a client that syncs Outlook to Google Calendar. The sync from Droid to Google Calendar happens automatically (since your phone uses the Google Calendar as the base for it's internal calendar).

Yes but the op is trying to sync iCal not outlook. If they were using Outlook then yes Google Calendar sync would work but since their work is using iCal you have to use another program like BusySync in order to get the iCal to sync with Google. Then Google Calendar will automatically sync with the Droid.
