    E:cant verify signature??

    So last night i decided to go back to stock and try out a different from. (i was advised to go to stock and then go from there cause i have been having weird issues with my phone) so i went back to stock and i downloaded Dm updated and i installed it. It asked me if i wanted to root, i said yes, and it downloaded a file.. then when i went into recovery to do the update.zip it said "E:cant verify signature" and i dont know what the hell is wrong, i made sure that the update.zip is indeed update.zip and it is, no extra .zip or anything like that....

    any suggesttions?

    Try downloading the file yourself and going through stock recovery yourself and "apply sdcard/update.zip" thats what i did. Maybe the download you got from DMUpdater messed up somehow.

    i even tried to go and dowload that update.zip from rootyourdroid.com (or watever it is) and then go from there and i still get that same thing....

    i just went back in and now i get "E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command" i dont mean to hijack this thread, just wondering if it's related?

    I need help with you lol when you went back to stock, did you go to 2.0.1 or 2.1?

    Are you getting the notification for 2.1 or not? This could be messing up with the update.zip you have downloaded

    actually i just checked and its 2.1 update 1... i thougt it was 2.01 bc it has the old app drawer and what not.. its ese81

    Thats your problem, Moto closed the root exploit we had with 2.0.1, so you won't be able to root with stock 2.1. You'll need to go back to 2.0.1 using an sbf file and RSDlite.

    SORRY FOR POSTING A THREAD OF A DIFFERENT SITE, couldnt find it here.

    Restore 2.0.1 for rooting, or Unroot/Unbrick your phone using .sbf

    Just be careful, but you should be fine.
