Why is 2.1 so slow?

This is a discussion on Why is 2.1 so slow? within the Droid Hacks forums, part of the Droid Hacking category; I updated to 2.1 last night (BB 0.9), and my phone is very slow now...my long bench tests in SetCPU is now 1200 at 800mhz ...

    Why is 2.1 so slow?

    I updated to 2.1 last night (BB 0.9), and my phone is very slow now...my long bench tests in SetCPU is now 1200 at 800mhz (was 700 at 550mhz). Is there any way to get my performance back, preferably at 550mhz...and without reverting to 2.0.1?

    did you do a complete wipe of the phone? the data and the cache? you could have a lot of residual stuff slowing it down.

    my bb .9 runs blazing fast

    Yeah, wiped everything, restored everything (using the SPrecovery, not the update.zip).

    BTW...what is your long benchmark time? Did you use a different kernal?
