Android 2.1 Officially Releases - ditch Bugless Beast?

Just got an email saying Android 2.1 OS is finally out for Droid, but can take up to April 1st to push it out to all devices. I'm currently using Bugless Beast v0.9. Can I just update to the official factory 2.1 when it comes to my phone, or do I have to unroot my phone or something? Not sure how that works.

Why? What's in the official 2.1 that you can't get on BB 0.9? Just stay on BB. It'll probably be on the ESE81 build within a week.

Oh ok, just figured BB would still be buggy. If that's the case, I guess I'll wait on Pete

no you will not get the update if you are using BB .9..or any rom for that matter. You will need to unroot and revert back to stock to be able to get the OTA update.

V.9 is perfect. Go apply the baseband update.zip over at alldroid and chill out for a little while until Pete gets ESE81 integrated. You have more to lose (including possibly losing root exploit) by downgrading to stock 2.1 at this point.

I would say keep it and stay rooted.

There's is absolutely nothing new about the ese81 build..except that the nexus wallpaper has been modified to a droid version with black background and red lights.

Stay with BB and apply the baseband update. Hell I am still running BB .7 as I have been EXTREMELY happy with it. I may eventually go to .9 or just wait and see what Pete does with ESE81. In any case there is nothing that OTA 2.1 will offer that BB .9 doesn't have. If anything BB .9 offers more than the 2.1 OTA.
OG Droid w/ Pete's GPA16 w/ stock Kernel using auto OC script. (retired)

    LG G2X w/ rooted 2.3.3 leak.

It's OK for your Droid to be different. Just be supportive and reassuring and it will do just fine. It's when you or other people point at it or mock it for being different is when its' feelings get hurt. Just show it unconditional love regardless of its' differences and it will in turn reciprocate that love and loyalty.
