Did you do a wipe before the install?
Mike
Hi! mwhartman
Yes. I did wipe before and after the flashing.
Following is the info from my milestone before the upgrade, I tried several 2.1 images from motorola_milestone [And Developers]. By the way, do you know which sbf I should use ?
Model Number
A853
Firmware version
SHOLS_U2_00.56.0
Fireware configuration version
GAS_NA_GCXSHOU000NA_P003
Baseband version
3GSMEPU91A_U_91.08.0AI
Baseband configuration version
UCASHLSNAB1B2B5039.0R
Kernel version
2.6.29-omap1
rkg683@ca25rhe79 #1
Build number
umts_sholes-userdebug SHOLS_U2_00.56.0
ECLAIR 113753 debug,test-keys
I'm curious why you wiped after you flashed?
I read some posts saying that certain kinds of firmware file with suffix "Service1FF.sbf" won't wipe data and cache after upgrade as usual and can cause peculiar problems when using. Now I tried reflashing without 2nd wipe, still reboot continuously. Do you think my phone bricked ? What should I do then?
Thanks!

No I do not think you phone is bricked. I not clear on what you've done. Can you send me a PM with the exact steps that you have taken so far. That will help me to get a grasp of the problem and to get you a solution.
Mike
I'm thinking he re-flashed his phone, but instead of using the 2.0 file, he used 2.1 which gets About phone info to be all the 2.1 info. People have done this on the Droid, and I think this is what he is talking about. The guide for the Droid is HERE so you know what I am talking about.
I hate to say this but we might be the wrong guys to ask. The milestone is different from the droid from what I've read. I'm not sure if droid rooting techniques work on the milestone.
This may help (how to root?)
