Ok, I've been looking... What is overclocking??

I've used the search and tried looking through some threads but couldn't find anything that told me what overclocking is, so can someone please explain it... Thank you. The Rocks!

overclocking is basically making the cpu in your droid run faster than what motorola has it set to stock. the stock cpu in the droid runs at 550mhz max i think. but after rooting and installing a rom that enables you to control the cpu using "setcpu" in the market, you can "overclock" the cpu to run at higher speeds.. i run mine at 1.2ghz. It makes the phone waay faster!

Oh wow... I have Bugless Beast 2.1 on mine... How do I overclock it to run at 1.2??

yup, just DL setcpu in the market. and when you open the app, make sure you select "auto detect" instead of motorola droid.

The definition of Overclocking is all over the internet. You wouldn't even have to be specific in a google search. You couldn't possibly have searched for it. But anyways, glad you got your answer.

Exactly what I was thinking, exactly. Funny how we are both named Mike Jones and were thinking the same thing. You live in Pennsylvania, I am from Pennsylvania.....
