    USB Port Broken....root and flash recovery from terminal emulator

    Hey all,

    Recently my droids usb port snapped off. Dont ask me how, I have no idea. My question is can I flash the recovery partition and root my droid and everything from a terminal emulator without the use of adb shell?

    Wow, how are you charging it?

    But yes you can flash recovery with TE, Complete How-To on How to Mod Your Phone (2.1 ROM, O/C, MM, Boot Animation, etc) <-- that guide uses TE instead of adb. The commands should eb the same if you are using another guide, but you won't have to type "adb shell" first.

    Dude, how are you charging your phone?

    I would suggest going to Verizon and getting it replaced BEFORE you try and root it.
