Noob: trouble with update.zip files

So I have just updated my droid to v0.8 of Bugless Beast Rom. I have now tried to run the update to bump it up to v0.9. I download the file, change it to "update.zip". Move file to SD Card. Reboot, click on install. Then click on "Allow update.zip Installation". Screen does nothing. I then click on "INstall /sdcard/update.zip (deprecated). It takes about one second and this is what shows up.

Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
Rooting your phone...

Install from sdcard complete.

The status bar at the bottom is never completely yellow, only a minor fraction is yellow.

When I reboot my phone nothing has changed and it still says I'm running v0.8.

The update.zip problem occurs for all updates I have tried.

I am running 0.99.3b

Help please?

Wrong update.zip. Thats one to root your phone.

Check the size. I bet its ~10.2mb.

What is the link you are using for your update.zip download? to me it sounds like you aren't downloading the update.zip file for the ROM, but rather for root or something.

It happens with all update.zip files.

give a specific link to the one you are using right this minute to try to go to v.9

You could be correct.
