Your welcome
The biggest problem with cellphone tower internet is lag. You will notice that you can probably have decent speeds (such as overall speed of downloading a large file) but the actual individual requests take longer to get a response.
That is why games will probably lag a lot.
Your best experience is probably with viewing media like videos/movies and general things like email and surfing. But remember media is also one of the biggest ways to increase data usage.
Anything time critical, like online gaming, is probably not going to work so well.
You will find that callphone internet is very dependent on where you are. You can be in one area where the signal is just crap, and having pretty awesome speeds in another location.
If you can, try moving to a different location with a better 3G signal. You might get a better experience, but don't expect home network quality.

Haha, thats pretty funny. My house is on the edge of the network, so my 3G is nearly useless (goes in and out) at my house.
Basically I just use my home wifi network when I'm at home. I wish it was better here so I wouldn't be forced to use WiFi all the time.
Its not so bad as to lose service when I roll over in bed though, thats pretty hilarious.

My 3G is always great. I've only ever seen the 1X symbol twice.
My 3G is at a nice 1.2Mbps.
I now have a Droid!

well i was wondering what it would do if i messed around with the data rate and i like the full setting for some reason it does affect the 3g speed per my speedtest in sig

Nothing to do with EVDO at all.
EVDO HDR stuff is elsewhere.
Do you know how to access it? I've been looking everywhere for the config menu in order to access the ID/PW config...
Thanks!

It's under the programming menu, not the config menu. The programming menu you have to hit ##program and hit send.
Resistance is futile.

Thank you for the quick response, but I guess I wasn't clear enough. Going through the ##PROGRAM I can only see certain settings which are not the ones that could allow me to setup the EVD0 setup of ID/PW. I've been reading around all day and there seems to be a way to Hardcode these settings using QPST, but does anyone have how to do this, or how to use something similar to the ##PROGRAM to have an easier time configuring this?
