    Nandroid Backup Installation Instructions:
-Update & backup any files you wish to restore, this will wipe /data
-Extract the files from the archive using WinRAR or a similar program
-Place the extracted folder (the ROM) into the "nandroid" folder on your sdcard
-Reboot into recovery mode (hold the power and "x" button at the same time)
-Wipe data/factory reset (do this twice!)
-Wipe cache partition (do this twice!)
    -Backup/Restore
    -Advanced Nandroid Restore
    -Choose backup (select the ROM)
    -Perform Restore
    -Enjoy!
Below is the Nandroid ROM, These are the files you need to extract and put into your Nandroid folder.

Check out the following thread which I think covers in extreme detail includes exactly what your asking about:

Nice thread osok. My main question for anyone is how can I restore things like my text messages if I do this? I have thousands of them that I need to refer back to often, and if I wipe data and I'm not supposed to restore that, I'm stuck with a clean slate. Is there any sort of workaround?

Yes, I use Titanium backup (available in the market) restores all data.

Roladroid, I am guessing that they want to go from 2.0.1 to 2.1 and that requires a data wipe. Don't know if TB will reinstall and reimport everything after the upgrade to new kernel much less cause nasty issues afterwards with all the apps. Ideas?

Yes! Thank you for this, I've been searching around but couldn't find a definitive answer on this anywhere.
