03-13-2010 10:16 AMWise choice. Just one suggestion. Pay attention to what it is doing while you are stepping it through. It can teach you a lot about rooting, and about all the different terminologies that people use here.

03-13-2010 10:38 AMI finally took the leap this week after resisting the urge for many months.
I have no regrets. My phone now works and looks better.
I used DroidMod to obtain root, then I flashed to Bugless Beast, then flashed Chevy's OC kernel, then finally to get rid of the lame stock drawer, I added the smoked glass theme.
I love the new look and feel -

03-13-2010 10:50 AMOh noes, Charlay! DroidMod never seemed capable for me. It's great for getting root (pretty damn easy with it), but once you do, get that sucker off your Droid and put Bugless Beast ESE53 0.8 Stable, then flash and update.zip a 1.25Mhz Chevy kernel. You will never. ever. need. another. phone. Oh, and if you need help, do PM me! I can help you with almost ANYTHING.
