Boot sound?

I'm wondering if anyone has seen anything or know how to add a sound to the boot animation..

I've got a cool Decepticon boot ani. and would love to have a cool sound to go with it

The software actually looks for this, if you look into your logs a little you will see an entry for something like "playmp3 not found, bootsound aborted." There is no "playmp3" file in the system/bin. I found the "playmp3" on an old G1 system dump somewhere, but never quite got it to work, let alone play at boot. But it's old news, I don't think google intended for bootsound to play like that, hence the omission. And I think the nexus boot animations can play sound, but they do it in a totally different way. You may want to check some of those out.

unfortunately im not quite brave (intelligent) enough to go sifting through software logs ... im still just a geek in training ...geek as a positive term, in my vocabulary... lol so unfortunately... until im a little more experienced or someone has "an app for that" ha ill settle for no sound..

Um.. that video is nothing but a spinning android logo for the boot animation. The music in the background is not coming from his phone..

There is something about boot animation sound in framework-res.apk. If you look in it at /assests/sound there are two files bootanim0.raw and bootanim1.raw . Take it for what it is. Don't know if this is related or not.
