Question on phone kernel

Why does my Droid have the Bugless Beast 1.0 Build number and smoked glass ver 2.6.29 Kernel Version?

What do I do to get them the same or is this the way it should be??

kernels and ROMs are independent of one another...

ie, this is the way it should be

You can load other kernels as well. Check out the first post in the Bugless Beast thread on alldroid.org for the download links and update.zip installation instructions.

I'm running BB 1.1 with the 1.2 Chevy kernel.
