    Delete stock apps.

    I know i saw a thread on how to do this but now i can't find it when i search. I'm rooted and just want to delete a couple of stock apps. not change them so i can't see them, but totally delete them.

    some roms delete the app if you want a knew look to your phone, i have the latest bugless beast and it took off the amazon mp3 player...so maybe theres other roms that have other options...i'm not to sure because i am knew to this too, but trying to learn

    i know there are roms, but i thought when i rooted it would allow me to delete those apps. when i try with astro or androzip it says i don't have permission.

    If your willing to install a new rom you can use dmupdater and you will be given the option to remove most of the stock apps

    nope. just want to delete them. i don't like all the bugs and headaches that come with roms.

    go into the system/app folder and rename the APK's to .OLD

    In the bugless beast rom thread there are some updaters that will remove some of the preinstalled apps .... can't remember which other than the corp calendar.

    Use Terminal Emulator:

    cd /data/app
    su
    mv filename.apk filename.apk.bak

    You can also delete them with rm, but then it's harder to get them back....

    Very true. I'd rename first and if that worked then consider maybe deleting. It would suck to delete something then realize you sorta needed it for your phone to function. Then again, that's what sprecovery is for!
