Best Custom ROM that doesn't overclock by default

    Hey Everyone,

Have a question for everyone. I've been using Sholes (DroidMod now) for a while, and now with their 2.0.6 version, they have started overclocking by 50mhz default. I know that isn't a lot, but I really don't want to overclock at all.

Does anyone have a recommendation about a ROM? Why do I want a custom? I prefer the Smoked Glass theme (which I can't get without a custom ROM), multi-touch browser, and that's about it (maybe a different color launcher).

Thanks for your responses in advance!!!

    Paul

I would stick with the sholesmod now droidmod, the phones processor is rated for 600mhz but, if u only want to keep it at stock then download the set cpu app from the market and instead of selecting autodetect select moto droid and it will only allow a max overclocking of 550mhz..

Here you go dude, I made these for a friend and thought I'd post them for you. I have uploaded BB 0.7.6 which IMO is the most stable and fastest version Pete has put out to date. I also uploaded BB 1.0 which is his newest rom release. Now these are different from the ones posted on All Droid because I replaced the kernels with the stock one. So there's no overclocking on them. They're maxed out at 550MHz, glass themed, but no multi-touch browser! Enjoy!

    Bugless Beast v0.7.6 Update.zip

    Bugless Beast v1.0 Update.zip

Update.zip Installation Info & Instructions (No Data Loss):
    -Download update.zip
-Place update.zip on the root of sdcard
    -Reboot into recovery
    -Install
    -Allow update.zip installation
    -Install /sdcard/update.zip (deprecated)
    -Enjoy!

I tried your update rom's but I'm getting the following message:

    E:update.zip install blocked
    Installation aborted.

Am I doing something wrong? I rooted my phone last night, performed a backup and figured I'd try a rom this morning.

    <<edit>>
nevermind. My bad, I just read I missed a step just prior to installing rom (permission)

Right above INSTALL /SDCARD/UPDATE.ZIP you have to select ALLOW UPDATE.ZIP INSTALLATION.

EDIT: Glad you got it working!
