Are you selecting "allow update.zip installation" before you select the other update.zip that says (deprecated) beside it?

well both updates have the same name, so i had to replace the other file i had that originally rooted my phone, so i only have one thing there, and it doesnt say deprecated next to it, and there is no choice for allow update.zip installation

Then you must not have SPRecovery installed on your phone yet....

I highly suggest you do this first before you try installing any ROMs....you can very much brick your phone if you don't have this custom recovery.....this is what allows you to make backups of your current state so if you screw up you can have a backup

Go to rootyourdroid.info to learn how to get this and look at the Custom Recovery Image section

Sprecovery has saved me. I tried flashing the 1.3GHz rom and bricked my phone. Went to a previous backup, everything was fine. Had that happened without Sprecovery...I'd be screwed. Install it before you continue. It's a MUST.
