    weird tethering?

So yes, I know tethering is not officially supported and especially not downloading torrents..
However, some of us do and I have something weird going on lately when I do.
Currently my torrents download at next to nothing when I usually get 200kb/sec.
sometimes they pickup then drop back down.
I can be downloading at like 10kb/sec and wireless tether will sometimes show as high as 1000kb/sec.
I installed a network monitor to make sure a background program wasn't running eating my bandwidth and nothing.
What would cause the huge discrepancy between the speed I am downloading and what wifi tether is showing?
Could this be Verizon throttling me for using tether/torrents?

Not speaking from experience or any actual facts, just repeating what I have heard in the past on crackberry.com...
Allegedly, Verizon can throttle you back if they suspect you are tethering and don't have it on your plan.

Yeah, no evidence to prove it, but that screams throttling. Torrent anything on an unlicensed 3G tether seems like a really good way to get slammed with extra fees.

this is my guess too.. It has been holding steady at 10kbps for a while now.

I don't know how port forwarding would come into play here, but are you getting a solid connection to the tracker?
