Reason: added CPU Benchmark

Sholes 2.0.5 @1.2GHz JIT
Linpack: 11.4

I must be doing something wrong here...
I have sholesmod v 2.05 1.1 mhz running
My Linpack numbers seem inline with others on here with mine averaging
9.3
But my CPU Benchmark scores are way off with my average being
1,050ms
Most of you guys are getting in the mid 200's?
Running Benchmark I get a 843 CPU Score
Any ideas?
Thanks

A lot depends on the apps that you have and what is running in the background. Kill off all your tasks, set the min and max in setcpu to 1.1 ghz, and see if your scores don't get better. Mine fluctuate a lot, so be sure to run it more than once.

Ill try that, I never set the min and max equal to each other.

I agree with Jhank. That being said, every time I get a new ROM, after I install all my programs, I do a benchmark. I'm not concerned with what the actual numbers ARE per se, but rather deviations from the norm. For example, I usually get between 195-205 give or take with all my crap running. I tried out one of the new 2.1 ROMs yesterday and the lowest score I could come up with was 340, BEFORE I even installed my programs. That's a pretty significant difference. But it wasn't 340, for example, that concerned me...just the deviation of about 150ms.

Nope still no real difference, averaging right around 1,050 ms.
This is with CPU Benchmark program. Just want to make sure I am comparing apples to apples. I do see a note in the download file that v 1.3 has a new benchmarking code, so old results cant be compared to others. Dont know when that change occured so maybe that is the reason?

I just released the 1.3 series of CPU Benchmark yesterday. The benchmark code is 100% different and you can not compare the results to anything before it in any meaningful way. The new version also has the ability to upload your results and see others online results. For reference, my droid at 1.2ghz hit 790ms under the new benchmark and at 600mhz I get 1950ms or so.

That explains it all.
Thank you
