Major confusion when ROM hopping, want to avoid brick!

im going to make this in bullets to summarize and make it as easy to read as possible

    -was running BB 7.4
-installed sholes USING SMUPATDER, wiped all my apps/texts from my phone (smu 2.03 *****en baegal)
-want to go back to BB 7.5!
-basically asking, what do i need to do to remove sholes from my system to successfully run BB 7.5? do i need to uninstall the app?
this is where i think bricking may happen - when i installed smupdater, it removed droidroothelper and androzip, i think this removed busybox and whatever else droidroothelper installed. however, i have bb7.4 update on my computer. if i mount my droid, im scared 7.4 update will install however, i am still using sholes. if i remove sholes, i will basically be unrooted im guessing. so if i want bb7.5, i will remove sholes which will remove root. should i just do factory reset? im scared that if i mount droid it will place bb 7.4 on my droid it will brick due to sholes wiping my system!
WHAT SHOULD I DO TO UNINSTALL SHOLES TO GET BB BACK!

Just install the nandroid file of BB7.5 onto your phone that way....

You don't even have to remove Sholes' app man.....you're fine...

Here I just posted this exact post for someone else.....

Download BB7.5, reboot into recovery (turn off phone and then hold x +the power key), and make a nandroid backup of your current sholes ROM.....

Extract the file you downloaded with WinRAR (select Extract File after right clicking), get the file that comes out of the original file that you extracted, place that file in your nandroid folder on your sdcard

Reboot into recovery again, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, backup/restore, Advance Nandroid Restore, Choose Backup, then choose the one you just put on your sdcard, and select Perform restore..

    Reboot and your done!

I would just use the SMupdater to go back to stock. You will be unrooted and in a stock state. Then follow the instructions to reroot and add BB back to your system. Using the SMupdater to go back to unrooted stock is easy and safe.

But why would you go through those extra steps of unrooting and then rooting back again???

I just did this EXACT thing the other day.....I ran Sholes for like 3 days, and couldn't overclock as high as I wanted, so I went back to BB straight from Sholes' ROM.....IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL

I was posting this at the same time as you and didn't know you had a better answer, mine was just a quickie based on my limited knowlege of swapping between both ROMs. Your way is better if it works (I'm sure it does but I haven't tried it myself).

No no...I'm in no way implying my answer is better than yours....at all

I was just simply suggesting it

i hate DRH, its like a crutch.

its much easier to go back and forth using sprecov and nandroid once you figure out the process.
