    Overclock Heat Story.

I'm overclocked to 800mhz and lastnight I fell asleep and my phone is set to timeout every 1 minute but for someone reason it didn't timeout and I woke up 2 hours later and my phone was sooo ****ing hot that I thought the screen was about to start melting. It burned my hand when I picked it up. I would have check temp monitor if I wasn't so scared but I instantly turned it off and let it cool off for like 10 min then I turned it back on and suprisingly its completely fine.

use the profiles that throttle the clock speed down when charging or when the temp is > than safe. works like a champ for me. 800mhz when i need it, 550 (or less) when i dont.

And now you have learned your lesson...install setcpu, set it to go to 250 while sleeping and 550 when it reaches 48ºC

Oh yeah and when your not using it, press the power button!!! It's not that hard! You might have an app keeping it from sleeping!

The phone wasn't charging but I have it clocked to 250 when the phone times out but for some reason it didn't and I didn't know there is a profile for temp.

I use screebl as well, and have my screen timeout set to the minimum 15 seconds. Yes, definitely set your profiles, however, jasonb mentioned the SetCPU profiles don't seem to be working with Taz's kernels and Bugless Beast.

SetCPU does work fine with Sholes. Mine got up to 118 (battery) first night because I didn't have my profiles set right. After setting profiles it was fine.

Of course now I don't have to worry about it all since I unrooted for the 2.1 update.

So you're willing to risk not being able to root the device again?
