Well I believe 7.4 and I know 7.5 has a lower limit of 250 due to problems with phones waking up from 125. However, I used 125 until it disappeared.
Currently:
Charging - 550/25
sleep - 550/250
Power <33% 550/250
Failsafe >55C 550/250

I installed BB last night and damn my battery got hot quick.. I was wondering if it was ok to run BB at the regular stock speed, or would I notice major slow down ?.. I didn't notice any speed increases when I had it running for about an hr just some crashes :/

If heat is a problem (even a slight one), it seems like there'd have to be some significant pros to OCing... so far I've read that it isn't very noticeable real world. Anyone care to comment on this? I really want to try it if there's some boost (says the guy with a heavily overclocked PC) but if it doesn't matter...

Of course now I don't have to worry about it all since I unrooted for the 2.1 update.

So you're willing to risk not being able to root the device again?
Setting profiles in SetCPU is a must, but apparently it did glitch on the o.p.
I also used Sholes and unrooted yesterday. Why don't you think the people who cracked and figured out how to root before can't do it again? They either already have it figured out or will a day or two after the release of 2.1. I'm a little miffed that some are going to stay rooted to prevent the extremely unlikely situation that you wouldn't be able to root again.

I agree Vulcan that they will probably figure out how to root it in a couple of days, but what if its not. I don't believe the Eris has been rooted yet and it came out the same time as the droid. So if you are already rooted, why take the chance. I've beem using sholes since 1.0 and have had 0 problems.

It burned my hand when I picked it up. I would have check temp monitor if I wasn't so scared but I instantly turned it off and let it cool off for like 10 min then I turned it back on and suprisingly its completely fine.
I'm doubting this story.
I've never ever had my phone heat up except when I was playing a very graphic intensive game (homerun baseball).
I've had phones heat up, but "burning like the screen was going to melt", and then it was fine? something doesn't make sense here. I've never felt my Droid heat up from use, and I'm overclocked at 950 and use it all day and all night.

trust me .... don't doubt this story. before i ever rooted or anything i fell asleep and my droid somehow ended up under my pillow. when i woke up it was so hot i could hardly touch it! i seriously thought it died
that was about 3 months ago and it hasn't happened since so i dunno
