Do I have to actively do anything to avoid 2.1?
After 5 days or so on Sholes, I have no intention of going back. I've heard that Sholes 2.0.2 (the one I'm running, didn't upgrade to 2.0.3) blocks OTA updates so I won't have to worry about 2.1 installing itself and unrooting (or even worse, bricking) my phone.
I'll wait until whenever the Sholes team releases a 2.1 ROM to upgrade to whatever they have to offer since I'm so thrilled with how the phone works since installing this ROM.
Thanks for the info in advance.

I renamed the etc/security/otacerts.zip file - this is supposed to block OTA
EDIT: Sorry - just realized you are on Sholes. I'm running a different ROM.

I have the latest version (2.0.3). Do I have to worry about OTA update erasing my rooted Droid phone?

Anyone with a custom rom/ SPrecovery = OTA BLOCKED
Don't worry :-)

If you have SPRecovery installed (the newer version) it automatically blocks OTA updates. This of course has been answered at length at least 400 times.

Just wait till a dev release of 2.1 comes out...shouldn't take long.

Anything after or including the one linked in the middle thread of my signature will block it.
