i want to remove the car home app, help please.

i want to remove the car home app. i don't use it and i hate that it pops up everytime i put it in the dock or press the home button. i just don't want it.

i am rooted, what exactly do i do to remove or rename it?

i'm pretty sure i read that i can do something in the emulator to remove it. anybody know exactly what i type into the emulator to remove or hide it?

You should be able to uninstall it with 'adb uninstall'.

Just use the Sholes.info ROM. Our ROM lets you select to keep it or remove it when you install it. It's called "CarDock", by the way.

You can get our ROM via market (SholesMod Updater) if you feel like donating $5, or you can get it for free from Sholes

Basically, you connect your droid to your pc via usb and then access it via adb (its in the android sdk). The good think is, you can connect while your droid is in recovery mode. So with 'adb uninstall com.example.something' you can uninstall the example package.

you could also do:
adb shell
# uninstall com.packagename.whatever

i think the package name is com.android.cardock , but i am not sure.

I have not looked at the feasibility of doing this, but maybe you could find the magnet on the car dock and remove it.

i guess i'm just going to leave it alone. i thought there was a way to do it on the phone through the terminal emulator.

Its really not hard, the only thing you have to do is to download the sdk, set up adb (Setting up ADB - ModMyGPhone Wiki) and connect to your phone, then mount the directory and delete or uninstall the app/apk. Maybe 10 minutes and there are plenty of tutorials for adb.
